Être: I am; you are. Such is the framework for the final stanza of Sara Teasdale’s “Peace.”
Originally written as a stand-alone composition, Être is now the first movement of the larger set Flame and Shadow (2026), for soprano and cello. Performers may choose to perform Être on its own or as part of the larger work.
